Something went wrong? You’re in the right place!
What are the specifications required to run your games?
All Anonymoose Productions games are made using RenPy, which uses Python. This engine is incredibly lightweight and renders everything via CPU, so you don’t need any fancy system specifications.
I recommend:
– A current, supported operating system
– At least 2GB RAM
– Integrated graphics
– A screen capable of at least 1080p for optimal viewing experience
The disk size required varies by game, with fully voice-acted games like Housewife Simulator requiring around 2GB, and games without voice acting like Dairy Tale requiring under 1GB to play.
The game won’t run on my PC!
First, make sure you have EXTRACTED the ZIP file. You can’t run the game from the zip file.
Second, this is uncommon, but sometimes 3rd party antivirus on Windows blocks the file erroneously. This happens a lot with my older games – if there is an .exe file ending in -32.exe, delete it and try again. You don’t need the -32 file and can run the normal exe.
Third, sometimes the file needs unblocked. In Windows, right-click it and click Properties, then at the bottom, you may need to unblock / trust it.
If you’re on a Mac, there’s separate instructions further down.
If you’re on an Android or Linux, there are too many variables for me to help you much – but reach out on Discord and I’ll try to help.
If things still won’t work, follow the instructions for “I found a bug!” below with as much detail as you can provide to help me troubleshoot the issue.
The game won’t run on my Android / Tablet / Potato!
Unfortunately, I have limited support for mobile devices, including potatoes, even if they are delicious. You will have to try on a real system, or proceed at your own risk.
I found a bug! 😫
OMG! Thank you! And I’m SORRY!! I’m a solo developer so that happens.
The way to proceed depends on the bug. In any case, try to hit Ignore and keep playing if you can.
To best report the bug to help me fix it:
– If it’s a typo, write down the line exactly. No need to take a screenshot, unless that’s easier!
– If it’s an issue with the voice line, do the same as the above, please.
– If it’s a game crash, please screenshot the error, click “Rollback” if the option exists, and take a screenshot of that too.
– If it’s anything else, please take a screenshot.
For all of the above, the best way to report the bug is in the appropriate Discord channel on the server here: https://discord.gg/vM7JpUEwek.
My game isn’t saving progress! What’s wrong?
This happens in a few scenarios and usually only on Windows:
- You are running the game from inside the ZIP instead of extracting it first
- You are running the game from a context that is read-only (did you save it somewhere weird or mark files read-only?)
- You are using an out of date operating system
To play any Anonymoose Productions games, you either install via Steam or download a zip, extract the zip, and run the game.
You must extract the zip and run it from the extracted folder! Running the game from inside the zip causes weird things to happen. When in doubt, extract the game folder to your Downloads folder or Desktop, but really anywhere that’s not read-only should be fine.
If you’re choosing to run on an outdated OS (Windows XP, Windows 10) sometimes relative paths in the OS don’t function as expected. You should update your OS to reduce security risk; all my games will function on older OSes but may have strange behavior with loading and saving.
My Mac won’t open your game!
To open Anonymoose games on a Mac, unzip the game so you have the .app. extracted.
!! You cannot run the game from inside the zip file.
Double-click the app.
Troubleshooting steps:
1. If it fails to open due to security settings, right-click the app, select “Open,” and confirm to bypass Apple’s security restrictions.
2. On newer Macs, you may need to drag the app to the Applications folder first.
3. Last, on newer Macs, it may block the application as an untrusted app. If this happens, open the Apple menu > System Settings, then click Privacy & Security in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Go to Security, then click Open.
You will see the game app in the Security pane that opens, along with a warning about me being an untrusted publisher. Signing apps with Apple costs a fair bit, and I’m just a single developer, so I don’t pay for this capability. My apps are still trustworthy though – so you should click Open Anyway and the game will launch.
This game sucks! I want a refund!
Okay… Talk to me. Why? The games are pretty clear what you’re getting into, and most of them have a free demo!
If you can help me understand what I can do better, please email me at admin@anonymooseproductions.com with your invoice, purchase date, what went wrong, and why that should entitle you to a refund. I’m always looking to improve, so your feedback is valuable to me!
I have a super-cool game idea, or want my waifu in the game!
Really? AWESOME! Well, that’s what becoming a Patron is for! There’s even a tier of Patron to add a character concept you have to the game I’m currently developing. I’m also happy to make a game for you – but game development isn’t cheap – still, we can talk.
Here’s a handy link to my Patreon site where you can become a Patron: https://patreon.com/anonymooseproductions.
I need help with something else!
If it has to do with my games, I can help! But I can’t help you with your taxes. Sorry. You should reach out to me on any of the social media platforms I’m on, or on Discord, and see what I can do to help. If you somehow don’t have any of those, you can also email me at admin@anonymooseproductions.com.
